A carved wooden panel made by the Yoruba people of Nigeria and Benin. It is made of African hard wood and is carved in relief. It depicts a ceremony involving the Oba or king of Benin. It dates to approximately the 1960s/70s. It has a nicely aged patina. There is a little minor damage to the surface. There are holes in the back to allow it to be hung.
