A desk ornament or paperweight, made to advertise the Carborundum Company of Trafford Park, Manchester in approximately the 1920s. It is in the form of a bust of a Native American Indian. Carborumdum made sharpening stones and grinding wheels out of Silicon carbide, and this piece seems to be made of a similar material. It has a patinated finish to make it look like bronze. On the back are the company details, while on the front is the product slogan "Hardest & Sharpest". The base is covered with felt.

Condition : There is a small chip to the bottom edge.
