A charming string box made by Joseph Sankey & Sons of Bilston in about 1900. It is made of copper with an embossed band of acorns and oak leaves round the middle. It stands on three little bun feet. There is a hole in the lid to thread your string through. The base bears the Sankey mark.
This useful little piece is in good condition with a couple of minor dents.
