A charming miniature palette shaped frame, made in Italy in approximately the 1880s. It is decorated with intricate micro mosaic made up of thousands of tiny coloured glass tesserae, forming a beautiful floral design. The tesserae have been skilfully fitted into a brass frame that holds them tightly in place. It has a push-in back panel, little wire loop feet and an easel style wire prop. A couple of tiny tesserae are missing.
