A small wooden Mauchline ware box dating to around the late 19th century. The hinged lid is decorated with an illustration of a pair of pugs by the British artist and illustrator Harrison Weir (1824-1906). Weir's signature can be seen in the bottom left hand corner. The box is made of blonde wood with pressed metal catch at the front. It was probably intended as a trinket box.

Condition : The hinges are a little loose.
