An unusual 1960s novelty transistor radio in the form of a rather handsome plush bulldog, with glass eyes and plastic nose. He is stuffed with straw and has been well loved. He is a little bald in places and his stuffing shows through on his toes and in a couple of other patches.
There is a zip in his belly which, when opened reveals the radio. It was made by Tokiwa Electrical Industries in Japan, and is model number 725. The attachment for the battery is on a wire behind this, and the dials to tune the radio and adjust the volume protrude on either side of the zip. The radio takes a 9V battery. The radio is in working order.
This is a most appealing and very unusual radio, more so because it still works.
