Late 19th century Mauchline ware book by Alice Crowther

A beautiful Mauchline ware bound edition of "Golden Thoughts from Great Authors", selected by Alice Crowther and published by David Bryce & Son of Glasgow. This work was first published in 1883 and this version probably dates to around this time. The front and back covers of the book are made of sycamore wood applied to the original cloth boards. The front cover is decorated with a chromolithograph of  a bouquet of flowers, bordered in black and gold. The dark green cloth spine is stamped in gold. The book contains inspirational quotations by noteable authors.
