An anatomical teaching model, produced by the Deutches Hygiene Museum in Dresden in the 1970s-1980s. It shows a cross-section of human skin and features a hair follicle, sweat glands, nerves, blood vessels, fat cells, the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis, all in glorious relief-moulded detail. It is made of resin and has been hand-coloured. There are small reference numbers painted onto the model and there would originally have been a key to identify the relevant parts. The edge of the model bears the maker's label. The model is mounted on a wooden board with reference number painted at the side. This model will look great mounted on the wall of a bathroom or office.
The model is in good condition with minor signs of wear commensurate with the piece's age.
