A magnificent ceramic figure of a bull made in the 1960s by Bellini of Italy for Raymor. It has a powerful, stylised muscular body and is glazed in a rich blue with hand-painted floral decoration, typical of Bellini pieces of this period. The colouring is similar to pieces in the Bitossi 'Rimini Blu' series, and it is possible Bellini collaborated with Bitossi at this time. It is a fine piece of mid 20th century design.
This piece is unmarked as is common, the original paper label having become detached.
Condition : There is a small patch of damage to the glaze on the bull's nose and a little crazing to the glaze, but otherwise it is in good condition.
