A set of 10 carved ivory baby's teething sticks, dating to the mid to late 19th century. These sticks were intended for a baby to chew on to sooth their gums when teething, and they would also have provided some entertainment. The sticks are beautifully carved in various shapes including a mallet, a cricket bat, an axe, a knife and a fork. They are threaded onto a ribbon.
