A Victorian paperweight in the form of an elegant lady's hand. It is made of cast iron with a dark patinated surface finish. It is beautifully and sensitively cast and is very realistic, with one finger tentatively raised. At the wrist is a lace cuff and on one finger is a cabochon ring. It is unmarked but was probably made in France in the late 19th century.

It is in good original condition with a few minor marks commensurate with its age.
